Emergency contraception
Emergency Hormonal Contraception contains levonorgestrel and is taken as a single pill – commonly known as the ‘Morning After Pill’. You can obtain EHC without a prescription in one of two ways. Firstly, it is available to purchase over-the-counter (for those aged 16 years and above). Alternatively we are accredited to provide EHC free of charge through the NHS. You will be required to undertake a short and private consultation with the pharmacist, which avoids the need to make an appointment with the GP and makes it easier for you to take the pill within 72 hours of intercourse - which is when it’s most effective.
